I take it that this is some kind of share house? Or is it individual rooms with a common bathroom? Does Mum live there with room mate? Anyway, I think you need to have a chat with them, or if this is too intimidating, perhaps the landlord. I’m sure he/she doesn’t want the place looking tacky. If neither option appeals, wear dark glasses when you use the facilities that are shared!
