sleepyhead asked:
I wonder why usually shower and bathtub are not connected. When you take bath, you want to be soaked in clean water, so you want to shower first. After shower, you have to come out in colder area wetting the bath mat, even may have to wait to water to fill the tub. If these two are connected and has glass wall around, you don’t have to feel cold to transit to the tub. It’s a lot easier to bathe little kids too. You can wash them first before let them play in the water. Kids will stay warm and the water is cleaner and no soap left on their skin. Can anybody tell me what is the proper way to use separated shower and bathtub? I want to know what people usually do to use combined shower in the tub too. Shower first, rinse the soap, and fill water to soak?

because then the agents wanting to sell the unit to you can boast that it has both a shower and bathtub.
no that’ll take too long.. the children will be freezing. u can apply soap when ur in a bath too. hoose which one u prefer.
You are describing a Japanese-style ofuro. You shower and wash just outside and then jump in the tub to soak. The tub is already filled with water and many people share the same water to soak in the evening (starting with the father and ending with the mother).
In the US, the master bathrooms are set up like that because the bathroom is intended to be used by two people. The woman stereotypically uses the tub while the man uses the shower. In the US, you do not shower and then get in the tub. You wash with soap directly in the tub only.
Houses with combined shower/tub still generally have people who only shower (usually anyone over the age of 10) and people who only take baths (small children and sometimes the mother).
