if its rubber cover the mat with water and put in some bleach, leave for a while and scrub with a brush, rinse again and cover with water that has white vinegar added, it is an accumulation of body oils and soap suds that attract the mildew spores, clean every week or so
Don’t use one. Throw it out. Dry your shower walls and floor after every time you shower. One night a week, spray down the whole shower with Lysol and water in a spray bottle. In the morning, take your shower as usual, dry it all down, and you’ve done your weekly shower cleaning. Every person using the shower should be drying it after they use it. No more mold and mildew!

you need to wash the mat at least once a week into the laundry tub and hang to dry when not in use .
